During the horseback hikes, you will sleep in Berber tents and igloo-style tents, right next to the horses - a magical way to connect with nature and the rhythm of the ride. The bivouac setup includes a dedicated kitchen tent and a wash cabin with a chemical toilet, ensuring both comfort and authenticity even in remote landscapes.

This journey is designed for riders looking for a real adventure - not just a scenic ride, but a nomadic experience, crossing ever-changing landscapes while sleeping each night in comfortable tents under the stars.
Unlike the villa-based treks, this itinerary offers a genuine trekking experience: riding from one iconic city to another, with cozy bivouac nights that still include hot showers, toilets, and a transportable kitchen for delicious, home-cooked Moroccan meals.
Each evening, relax under the stars in traditional bivouacs and enjoy authentic Moroccan meals prepared by Sand & Saddle's support team.
Itinerary overview
Day 1: Arrival in Essaouira
Arrive at Essaouira airport (or optional transfer from Marrakech or Agadir). Take a private transfer from Essaouira airport (or Marrakech / Agadir on request). Check-in at a guesthouse in Sidi Kaouki (with swimming pool). Have free time to relax before the ride begins.

Day 2: Into the wild - Horseback trek begins - Sidi Kaouki to Tafedna
Begin your ride with a gallop along wide beaches, passing waterfalls and argan orchards. End the day at a peaceful fishing village.

- Overnight at a bivouac at a family farm near Tafedna or a guesthouse
Day 3: Coastal trails and cliffside views - Beach gallops and return to Essaouira - Tafedna to Imardidsen
Follow wild cliffs and rocky coastal paths past Cap Tafelney. This will be a spectacular day with panoramic views of the ocean as you ride dramatic coastal paths past Cap Tafelney.

Day 4: Through Berber villages and argan forests - Imardidsen to Tildi
Ride through small Berber villages, stone-walled fields, and argan forests. The day will end with breathtaking ocean views. Ride through stone-walled fields and ocean-view trails.

- Overnight at a bivouac on the cliffs of Tildi or a guesthouse
Day 5: Into the desert dunes - Tildi to Tamri
Ride through desert-like dunes and cross pink sandstone formations and along the Tamri river valley.

Day 6: Remote trails and wild coastline - Tamri to Aghroude
Have a final ride through remote trails and wild coastline before reaching the Aghroude region. This will be a scenic ride along untouched coastal paths.

Day 7: Final gallop and farewell by the sea - Aghroude to Imi Ouaddar / Taghazout
Go on a short morning ride and beach picnic, then bid farewell to the horses. Check in at a seaside guesthouse or apartment near Imi Ouaddar.

Day 8: Departure to Agadir
Transfer to Agadir airport (or Essaouira / Marrakech on request). You'll have free time to relax, shop, surf, or enjoy a hammam before your departure.

Oussama Es Samlali
Oussama began his journey on horseback as a young boy, helping his uncle run a stable that offered local rides and treks. He later joined a renowned stable specializing in large group treks and professional photo and video shoots. Before founding Sand and Saddle, Oussama traveled to the UAE to explore stables in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ras Al Khaimah, enriching his expertise and gaining insights from some of the best in the field. Oussama’s mission is to share his passion for horses in a natural, authentic environment.

This will be a unique eight-day itinerary along Morocco's stunning Atlantic coastline - from the artistic town of Essaouira to the surfside cliffs near Agadir.
