Son Menut is a rustic estate on the island of Majorca, designed for and adapted to high-standard equestrian tourism. They are located in the Son Negre countryside, five kilometers from Felanitx, in an area steeped in rural tradition and history. The continued preservation of these is what has helped maintain the region's rustic charm and romantic setting, including a commitment to the natural environment and local wildlife.
At Son Menut, you will find a quiet, laidback atmosphere, with authentic Mediterranean cuisine and a close and friendly service forming the heart of your Majorcan experience.
Son Menut started in 1993 as a stud farm, though with every passing year, they have added amenities and improved their facilities. Today, they are the proud owners of a charming country hotel, a riding school with more than 70 horses and its own breeding program, and a restaurant where they showcase their own Dexter meat.
Son Menut offers various horseback activities and accommodation in modern or rustic rooms, with the mission being to enhance an active, high-quality tourism on the island in a natural and friendly environment.
They believe that the greatest trait is the quality and personal service they offer to guests. After more than 20 years in this sector, their entire team works day after day to uphold the essence of Son Menut and make all who visit a part of their family. They are an open and multidisciplinary space where everyone feels at home.
After renovations and improvements made to Son Menut in 2017 and 2018, they have new, beautiful, and spacious rooms with balconies and stunning views of the terrace, riding arenas, and vineyards.

- Restaurant "a la carte" dining from 13:00 to 15:00 and from 19:00 to 22:00 - The "a la carte" service is replaced on Wednesdays in favor of a select menu for lunch and a special barbeque menu for dinner

Rooms
Junior suite
The junior suite (41.5 m2 plus balcony) is Son Menut's largest room with a double bed, providing guests exclusivity and additional comforts for their relaxation: comfortable armchairs for lounging, a private Nespresso coffee machine, a water kettle, and plush bathrobes to complete the getaway experience.
Like all other rooms, the junior suite is fully equipped with a satellite television, Wi-Fi, and other amenities. It has a maximum capacity of four beds and a cot.
Superior room
The new superior rooms (29 m2 plus balcony) are priced similarly to the standard rooms and have a capacity of up to four people. They are located next to the main building and above the restaurant’s dining room.
Each room is equipped with satellite television and telephone, Wi-Fi, climate control, an environmentally-friendly mini-bar, water kettle, safety deposit box, bathroom with shower, towels, and other amenities, and there is a balcony as well.
These new rooms have a modern style and are designed with an entrance dressing-room in which to change after a riding session or trail. Son Menut also has a superior room with accessibility and amenities for people with disabilities (35 m2 plus terrace).
Standard room for double or single use
Son Menut's standard rooms have been upgraded this year to improve your stay. They combine a rustic aesthetic with modern comforts, remaining true to the authentic Majorcan style without compromising convenience. There are a total of six rooms, and are available as single or double occupancies.
Standard rooms are fully equipped with satellite television, telephone, Wi-Fi, climate control, an environmentally friendly minibar, water kettle, safety deposit box, bathroom with bathtub, towels, and other amenities, and there is a balcony as well. Cots can be arranged at no additional cost.
Wellness
Son Menut has a comprehensive wellness service such as a Jacuzzi, banco de calor, Finnish sauna, massage rooms, sauna turca, and escocesa shower.
Program
The different components:
- 1 day of Equikinetic®️
- 2 days of Dual Activation®️ (groundwork and ridden) - position and flatwork may be combined according to the pupil’s necessities and wishes
On every one of these three days, you will have a session of three hours. On the first day, there will be a one and a half-hour trial lesson.
In addition, during the months of April, May, June, and September, you will enjoy a countryside trail with a snack in the area of Son Negre (duration of four hours). In the rest of the months, you will have a two-hour excursion in the countryside, plus one and a half hours of class.
Son Menut recommends that you arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled lesson time to start getting to know, brushing, and grooming your horse. The preparation and saddling of the horse is part of the lesson time.

At Son Menut, they will also offer you the services of a licensed "Geitner" trainer and a wide variety of horses to practice on. The classes will be totally varied. You can add extra riding (lessons and short trails) on request as well.
More than 30 years of history
Son Menut is first and foremost a family business, changing and growing as it passes through the generations; most recently from father to daughters. Pilar became a full-time member of the business in 2017, with Francina joining a few years later in 2019. The two sisters manage the different areas of agrotourism, playing to their respective backgrounds, training, and passions, whilst supporting each other and their family's legacy.
Together, Pilar and Francina continue to strive for equine tourism of the highest quality, seamlessly combining their history with modern practice and techniques to offer a truly unique experience. Sustainability and the natural environment feature prominently in their vision of Son Menut, adding to the already long history of friendly and familiar service.
While the various agricultural components of the business, not to mention the sheer number of animals, do present their own challenges, the sisters are sure to tell you that Son Menut has many ways to bring a smile to their faces, and yours as well.
Included excursions
All riding programs include a guided tour around the Son Menut grounds, including its history as well as some housekeeping pointers. Tours will be given on Mondays by Francina and Pilar. This will end by the terrace with a glass of wine and tapas. All guests will also be welcomed with a reusable bottle.

Julia Litten
Completing the Son Menut equine team, Julia is passionate about the whole health of the horse; physical and emotional. Learning with Julia gives clients a different perspective on their relationship with their horses.

%On this holiday, you will be provided with meals on a full board basis. Son Menut offers Mediterranean cuisine. A la carte restaurant is available on request. Enjoy the indoor restaurant or the sunny terrace with views. Son Menut also produces its own wine and beef. The a la carte bar-restaurant is open from 13:00 to 15:00 and from 19:00 to 22:00. On Wednesdays, there is only a special barbecue menu for dinner and a menu for lunch.

Campus for kids
At Son Menut, they believe in the importance of dynamic, fun, and didactic activities for their youngest to enjoy learning. During all school holidays - Christmas, Easter, and summer - they organize intensive camps spanning several days for riders of all levels. These camps are a unique opportunity for kids to have fun during their holidays, and at the same time, exercise and enjoy their favorite activities.
During these camps, Son Menut combines different activities depending on the children´s age and their riding level. Activities include:
- Lessons: beginner, jumping, and dressage
- Combination of games with theory
- Short hacks and horse vaulting activities
- Equestrian theory
- Time to cool off in the pool (summer camp)
2 types of schedule to choose from when booking:
- Reduced campus: 09:00 - 13:00 (riding only)
- Full campus: 09:00 - 15:30 (horse riding, swimming pool, lunch, equestrian theory and a thank you gift at the end)

Timetables and what to bring
Water is included throughout the morning. In the case of a full day, you should bring a swimming costume and a towel, sun cream, and a change of clothes. In either type of timetable, you should bring a reusable bottle of water and a midmorning snack. If you wish to, you can book a snack every morning at the bar (3 EUR).
All children must stay at the hotel accompanied by an adult parent, but should not be accompanied by children during campus hours.
Accommodation and other meals / services are not included in this camp.
Single supplement
The "single supplement" on programs is only added for solo travellers staying in a room with a double capacity. This supplement is 175 EUR for a standard room and 300 EUR for a superior room or junior suite.

Bike rental
Son Menut offers professional bike rentals suitable for all levels for a minimum of two days (safety equipment not included): the road bike (from 24 EUR per day) and hybrid models (from 14 EUR per day). They can be stored in a locked garage at the property. Son Menut recommends renting them before your arrival and contacting them directly to make the rental process easier.
Group prices
Special prices are available for large groups, from 12 up to 24 persons, always with a minimum of three nights.
Late-check-in
Please let Son Menut know if you have requested a late check-in (after 18:00), and be aware that the Son Menut reception and restaurant close at 22:00. If they don’t know your arrival time, they will not wait around for you.
