About the tour
Kapadokya Ranch asks riders to be fit, as some paths require walking on foot through the Black Mountains. This trail offers a great opportunity for those who enjoy sporty rides to ride lively Arabian horses through the diverse landscapes of unspoiled Cappadocia. The itinerary above is an example of a trail they often do, but for a reason like the weather forecast or a safety reason, the guide can choose to change the itinerary of the trail at the last moment. This progressive trail in camp is confirmed when they have received a minimum of four bookings for this formula. If the trail is not confirmed at the time of departure, they will propose it with a supplement. Your luggage will be transferred by a logistics vehicle. You should pack several lighter bags rather than one large, heavy suitcase.
- Arriving: 11:00 - 18:30
- Departure: 20:00 - 12:00
Levels
The difficulty of this trail is 4/4 - advanced riders. To take part of all the trails, you must have a competent riding level to be able to stay in control during group canters on forward-going horses, ride or lead your horse on technical passages (some paths need to be walked on foot in the black mountains), get on or off your horse several times a day alone and groom, and tack and untack your horse without assistance. Good physical condition is essential (for fit riders only).
Rhythms of the trail
- Seven riding days
- Six to seven hours on horseback each day
- 25 to 40 kilometers each day; stopping at a different location every evening
- Pace: mostly walk, with opportunities for trots and canters each day
Maximum weight
Riders' weight on the progressive trail is limited to 85 kilograms (on riding clothes). Riders upper 85 kilograms could book with an extra charge for the loan of a second horse. This option is only on demand; it will depend on the horse riding level of the rider and the availability of Kapadokya Ranch's horses.
Riders' contribution
Riders are in charge of their horses. You will be asked to participate in the camp’s life for feeding and brushing your horse, tacking and untacking your horse, and taking and replacing your luggage and equipment in the trailer.
Horses
The stable is composed of forward-going Arab horses who will surprise you with their robustness and their agility. They are small (1,50 meters on average - the ideal size for trailing on tortuous paths). Responsive, well-balanced, and respectful of the rider, they are trained with the natural horsemanship method. Horses live together in a herd, which contributes to their well-being. When they are not on trail, horses are grazing in the fields around the farm.
Equipment
The riding equipment includes standard bits and pelhams, McClellan light trailing saddles, and saddles made by Kapadokya Ranch. These are fitted with two saddlebags for you to carry personal belongings for the day.
